Boolean Tool

I was having trouble trying to figure out how to cut an object out of another object but after looking on the luxology cite and checking with the tutorials I found that the Boolean tool can do just that.

All you need to do is:

1) Have the main object and in a new mesh layer have the object you want to 'cut' out of the main object. (make sure the object on the second layer cuts all the way through the main object) [Both objects need a thickness]

2) go back to the main layer and highlight all of the main object. Make sure the other mesh layer can be seen. (Make sure the 'eye' is showing for that layer)

3) go to the Geometry Tab on the top > Boolean > Boolean.

4) The Operation should be 'Subtract' and the Drive Mesh should be 'Background'. Click OK.
