Ashley Parise - Paragraph about Lecture
I really enjoyed the lecture yesterday and found his work different and intriguing . My favorite part of the lecture was the house he showed in New Orleans and the chairs that have the moving pattern that he made 21 chairs for display from. The house in New Orleans reminded me of a bridge and our Student Union project. He took a very different approach to elevating the house above the ground which made me think of out of the ordinary ways to create seating and spaces in the Student Union project. I also liked how he took a simple material like zip ties and used those to hold pieces together. That pushed me to start thinking of something so simple and common and using it in a completely new way. I do not yet have an idea of how I can tie this concept into my project but I am definitely thinking about it. Overall, the New Orleans house was the most remembering and inspiring for me because it was a very cool approach and outcome.
